A groundbreaking celebration for Gulf Coast Community College’s Advanced Technology Center was held June 24, 2010. College officials, trustees, planners from Florida Architects, and other guests ceremonially broke ground for the new $35 million facility, designed from the ground up to expand and grow high-tech learning opportunities. GAC / H. J. High will serve as the Construction Manager for this exciting new project.

Gulf Coast Community College selected GAC Contractors to construct their $11.4M Public Safety Building that will house Bay County's Emergency Operations Center. This 50,000 square foot facility, which is designed to withstand 200 m.p.h. wind speeds, will implement the latest techological advancements in emergency preparation and response. This point of command will serve as the "nerve center" for the County in the event of a catastrophe. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

GAC was selected to construct the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve Headquarters located in Eastpoint, FL. This facility is the headquarters for the Reserve, which is one of twenty-five (25) sites designated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a Research Reserve. The headquarters will serve to provide opportunites for long-term estuarine research and monitoring, estuarine education and interpretations, resource management and to provide a basis for more informed coastal management decisions. When complete, this environmentally challenging project will achieve LEED Silver recognition.

In the wake of Hurricane Ivan, GAC was awarded this contract for the demolition, clean-up and re-construction of the many park pavilions, boardwalks, bathroom/changing facilities, observation points, and ranger station.

This design/build project included the demolition and reconstruction of four (4) rest areas on I-10 in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa Counties.

A hurricane in the mid 1970's destroyed the end of this popular fishing pier. An adjacent condominium developer agreed to rebuild the fishing pier as a condition of Santa Rosa County approving his multi-tower project. GAC was hired to rebuild the pier and utilized a jack-up barge and other marine equipment to pour the concrete pier.
